Post Office Postmark Policy Changes – This will affect critical deadlines for taxes

With this new policy for postmarks, you could drop your payment in the mail on time, but the postmark may not reflect that – it will reflect the post office processing date, which could be a delay of a day or two and affect how we process your payment, in turn causing a late payment penalty to be incurred!

To avoid late a late payment penalty – mail at least 2 days before the due date (allow even more time if sending from out of state), pay in person at the township hall or any Choice One Bank, pay online – the payment processor charges a $3.00 fee for an e-check payment or a 3% fee for a credit or debit card payment.
