CONSTRUCTION UPDATE JULY 1, 2026
We appreciate everyone’s patience and excitement as improvements continue to Horton Park.
As you may have noticed the asphalt work to the parking lot is complete as are several other projects such as the irrigation lines and kayak launch.
We are hoping to have the park itself back open for everyone to enjoy very soon. Currently we are waiting for barriers to block the boat launch as it is unsafe to use.
Boat Launch Update:
The utility lines have been removed, but we are now waiting for the steel piping to be removed. Once those are removed, we then have to get the boat launch dredged, as it is about 1-2 feet deep. In doing so, we have to wait until EGLE (Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy) gives us the go ahead to proceed with dredging.
